The cult classic that defined midnight movies is turning 50 — and fans worldwide are invited to celebrate at the official Rocky Horror Picture Show 50th Anniversary Convention, September 26–27, 2025, in Los Angeles, California, produced in partnership with Lou Adler.
The celebration kicks off Friday night with a special screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Academy of Motion Pictures’ David Geffen Theater. The evening opens with an exclusive Q&A featuring the legendary Tim Curry (Dr. Frank-N-Furter). **
On Saturday, the party continues at The Roxy — the iconic venue where The Rocky Horror Show first debuted in the U.S. — with a full day of festivities. Highlights include appearances by original cast members Tim Curry (Dr. Frank-N-Furter), Barry Bostwick (Brad), Patricia Quinn (Magenta), and Little Nell (Columbia), as well as shadowcast preshows, live panels, a memorabilia auction, trivia and costume contests, exclusive merchandise, and more.
Special programming will feature a heartfelt memorial to Sal Piro, beloved president of the Rocky Horror Picture Show Fan Club, presented by his sister Lilias Piro. Fans can also look forward to a panel with Tim Deegan — the Fox marketing executive who helped launch Rocky Horror onto the midnight circuit and author of Saving Rocky Horror: From Orphan to Icon.
The weekend’s screenings include the final cut of the fan documentary Rocky Horror Saved My Life, hosted by director Shawn Stutler, and Strange Journey, Linus O’Brien’s award-winning exploration of the history and cultural impact of both The Rocky Horror Show and The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Adding to the excitement, Scott Stander Productions will present details on the upcoming Rocky Horror Picture Show North American tour, along with exclusive announcements about special Rocky Horror events happening throughout Los Angeles this October.
